Groundwork complete

Me, Tr. Vinamra and Tr. Anant visited our Parshuramdwara school project on Monday. The school building is complete till the Plinth level.

The progress of the school project is coming along satisfactorily and our contractor Mr. Birbal has assured us of timly handing over of the school. The bills of course have started comming in :-). The principal and Birbal should hopefully be meeting today and do the billing and payment procedure part today.

Two pending issues deserve mentioning:
  1. Overhead electric wires: The principal has given the application in RSEB and their response is awaited.
  2. The design of our school is such that on the first floor level we are touching a heritage Burj. Mr. Birbal has been shown this and he has agreed to make that particular corner of the building slightly tapered so as to avoid a heritage trouble.
Didn't get any photos this time as none of us was carrying a camera and neither did we have a camera phone (WHAT at this age and times a non-camera phone - shame :-( Photos to come next time.

Your's newly incomming chair-man Tr. Tarun Bansal reporting from the scene :-)

School Project Update: Work well began...

Work well began is half done....

On scorchingly hot Sunday morning @9 am, to get up and go out in this terrible heat is not easy but then again some Guys were insane enough to be present- Saurabh, Chinmay, Ashish, Ravi, Tarun, Pushpendra, Shishir , Keshav and Manish

When we reached the Parshuramdwara School at 9.30, work was on on a full swing and a group of 20 odd workers were on the site ...

The foundation /piller work was being done at the time and we will be able to see the plinth level by next Sunday. The progress will be (hopefully) as per schedule.

We all had a Business meet on the way to AryaNiwas for breakfast.....Hearing the drumming of our stomach, our Darling Saurabh bought for all of us... Samosa's and kachori... but it was enough for us to survive the drive to Arya Niwas. We had a sumptuous, heart and stomach full of breakfast at Arya Niwas.
All you guys who missed the meeting, missed a lot... burp!!!

Someone had an idea that we can propose/second that from now on we should have a Business meeting on Sunday's @ Brunch....

And we will raise a toast to
our darling incomming Chairman and sing....
TARUN is jolly good fellow...
He is a jolly good fellowooooo...
For he take care of as and feed us and make all us have Fun......

Haha and bye,
Tr. Manish (Incomming Treasurar)

The Calling... Bhoomi Pujan of New School Project at Parshuramdwara, Jaipur

The Ist calling... 16th September 2006

First time,Tr.Pushpendra Bhargava and me were taken by JEn Mr. Kulsherstha to a 'D' category school in urgent and dire need of repair and new classrooms at a place known as "Parshuramdwara School"...

What struck us both at very moment we stopped outside the premises of theschool was "Hey, we live in Jaipur, feel proud of its heritage and beauty and here lies a very old structure in shambles and no to take care and restore it to its original grandeur..."

If in some way we can do little restoration this place can become a real experience for little children to read, write and learn in...

2nd calling... 3 January 2007
Our current chairman Tr.Lalit showed us a list of schools identified and surveyed by CII(Confederation Indian Industries). We short listed 5/6 schools we could take up for our next school project. From all the listed school numbers there was 1 school we were very curious and intrigued by and that was school no#171 - Upper Primary School at Parshuramdwara... Quite a unique coincidence as we are ROUND TABLE NO. 171 !!!
On 3rd January 07, I, Tr. Lalit, Tr. Tarun and Tr. Pushpendra went to this school and met the principal/head master and proposed our willingness to make New Classrooms in this school.

3rd and final calling... 22nd April 2207
At 3 PM on 22nd April 2007 the time did arrive we all were waiting for...
We laid our 1st Foundation stone of our dream school building...
We were all smiles...
After the ground breaking ceremony and laying the foundation stone, our vice chairman Tr. Tarun invited and welcomed the guests and fellow tablers from Jaipur and outside, the School Semiti members, the school teachers and children. RTI President Tr. Shiv gave a small Introduction of Round Table India, the movement, its purpose and vision. Our very own Area 5 chairman Tr. Rajeev urf Billu gave a very inspiring speech for kids. It was followed by a few words by Our Chief Guest Shri. Mahant Maharaj Maheshji and the HM of Parshuramdwara School. Our Chairman Tr. Lalit gave a vote of thanks to all for their cooperation and support.
To complete the celebration, all the school children present were distributed snacks and ladoos but what put a real smile on each one of their faces was the gift of Pencil Box with some stationary....
So keeping our sunny side up and blessing of the Al Mighty as we embark upon on our calling...
To build the much need classrooms at Parshuramdwara School...
Amen!!
